Recipes for the Environment

All Purpose Cleaner:

1 quart warm water

1 tsp liquid soap

1 tsp borax

¼ C undiluted white vinegar

Mix and store in a spray bottle – great for countertops, floors, walls, upholstery and carpets (always do a spot test first).

Drain Cleaner:

    1/2 C baking soda

    1/2 C vinegar

    1 teakettle of boiling water

First pour the baking soda into your drain, followed by the vinegar – let it bubble for a few minutes and then pour the boiling water to rinse.  Great to keep your drains clear, and fun for kids (it’s like making a volcano in your sink!).

Glass Cleaner:

    4 Tbl lemon juice

    1 gallon water

Better than the blue stuff on fingerprints!  If you don’t have lemons, you can substitute vinegar.
